In Tally.ERP 9, you can configure a warning message for negative stock balance from F12: Configure .
1. Go to Gateway of Tally > Accounting Vouchers > F8: Sales > F12: Configure .
2. Set Warn on negative stock balance? to Yes .
3. Press Enter to save.
