Configure Tally.ERP 9 License

The option Configure Existing License must be used in a LAN environment to configure an existing license to your Tally.ERP 9 from the Tally Gateway Server .

You can configure your Tally.ERP 9 application to get a license using:

Gateway Server

or

License File

Configure your Tally.ERP 9 license using the Tally Gateway Server

1. Start Tally.ERP 9 .

2. In the Startup screen, press Alt+C : Configure Existing License . Alternatively, press F12: Configure > Licensing > Configure Existing License . The Configure Your Existing License screen appears as shown below:

3. Press F2: Gateway Servers to view the list of compatible Tally Gateway Server(s) and select one.

Note: Tally Gateway Server (TGS) is a windows service that is installed and started after activating your license. You can access the license via LAN in your computer by configuring your computer to point to the TGS where the license is active.

Note: If a license is in educational mode, the Serial No. and License Type will appear blank in the above screen.

Alternatively, you can enter the Server name/IP and Port , for configuring your license. In the Configuring Your Existing License screen, select Tally Gateway Server in the field Configure license using .

4. Once the License is configured to the Tally Gateway Server. A message Restart Tally.ERP 9 to apply the changes? is displayed. Press Enter .

Configure your Tally.ERP 9 license using the License File

1. Start Tally.ERP 9 .

2. Click Alt+C : Configure Existing License in the Startup screen. Alternatively, click F12: Configure > Licensing > Configure Existing License .

3. Select License File in the field Configure license using .

4. Enter your Tally.ERP 9 license file path in the field License file path , as shown below:

5. Press Enter . A message Restart Tally.ERP 9 to apply the changes? is displayed. Click Yes to save.

6. The license details are displayed in the Information Panel
