Error Code 18

Encrypted License file is either corrupted or not found.

This error occurs when there is a problem with the tally_lck.lic license file in the Tally.ERP 9 installation folder.

Delete the tally_lck.lic file from the Tally.ERP 9 installation folder, and try to activate the license again. If the problem persists, contact Tally Solutions for help.

Error Code 22

License Request file is either corrupted or not found.

This error occurs when there is a problem with the license file tally_lck.lic or tally.lic in the Tally.ERP 9 installation folder.

Delete the tally_lck.lic file from the Tally.ERP 9 installation folder, and try to activate the license again.

Or

Delete the tally.lic file in the Tally.ERP 9 installation folder, if available, and try to reactivate the license . If the problem persists, contact Tally Solutions for help.

Error Code 35

Invalid unlock key. Enter valid unlock key to unlock your license.

This error occurs when you enter an invalid or incorrect unlock key while unlocking your license.

Check your e-mail for the correct unlock key. Sometimes the activation e-mail may go to the spam folder. The unlock key is case-sensitive. Copy the unlock key from the  e-mail, and paste it ( Ctrl+ALt+V ) in the Unlock Key field. If you are unable to access your e-mail,

Click F2: Get Unlock Key in the Unlock License screen.

Enter your Tally product serial number in the Unlock Key Service screen to view the unlock key.

Error Code 43

License not valid for this product. Please contact Point of Purchase or Tally Solutions Pvt. Ltd.

This error occurs when you try to activate your Tally.ERP 9 license using a Tally.Server 9 or Tally.Developer 9 serial number, or vice-versa.

Check and re-enter the serial number of the Tally product you want to activate. If the problem persists, contact Tally Solutions for help.

Error Code 46

Could not unlock license!

This error occurs when you copy the tally_lck.lic file to another computer and try to unlock the license in that computer.

Check your e-mail for the correct unlock key. Sometimes the activation e-mail may go to the spam folder.

The unlock key is case-sensitive. Copy the unlock key from the e-mail, and paste it ( Ctrl+ALt+V ) in the Unlock Key field, in the computer where the license was activated.

If you are unable to access your e-mail,

Click F2: Get Unlock Key in the Unlock License screen.

Enter your Tally product serial number in the Unlock Key Service screen to view the unlock key.

Error Code 49

Serial Number you have entered is wrong.

This error occurs when you have entered an incorrect or invalid Serial Number .

You must enter a valid Serial Number to proceed. If the problem persists, contact your point of purchase or Tally Solutions for help.

Error Code 2212

The Tally.NET ID, you gave as new administrator is incorrect!

This error occurs when the  new administrator e-mail ID you provided is incorrect or invalid.

Check the e-mail ID format, and ensure that you have typed it correctly. The administrator e-mail ID should be a valid e-mail ID. The Tally.NET password will be sent to this e-mail ID.

Error Code 3067

Account ID already exists. Please enter different Account ID.

This error occurs when you provide an Account ID which is already in use.

You must provide a different Account ID.

Error Code 6202

Invalid Serial Number. Enter valid Serial Number to proceed.

This error occurs when you enter an invalid or incorrect serial number for activation.

You must enter a valid serial number to activate your Tally product. If problem persists, contact the Tally partner from whom you made the purchase, or Tally Solutions for assistance.

Error Code 6203

Invalid Serial Number. Contact point of purchase or Tally Solutions for assistance.

This error occurs when you enter an invalid or incorrect serial number for activation.

You must enter a valid serial number to activate your Tally product. If problem persists, contact the Tally partner from whom you made the purchase, or Tally Solutions for assistance.

Error Code 6205

You cannot activate a license purchased in India in any other country. Contact Tally Solutions for further assistance.

This error occurs when you try to use a license purchased for use in India in any other country.

You must purchase a license specific to your country (India, SAARC countries, or International license for other countries). Contact your Tally Partner.

Error Code 6206

Invalid Activation Key. Enter valid Activation Key to proceed.

This error occurs when you enter an invalid Activation Key for activation.

You must enter a valid Activation Key to activate your Tally product. If problem persists, contact the Tally partner from whom you made the purchase, or Tally Solutions for assistance.

Error Code 6210

The Serial Number you entered is of a different Tally product. Enter valid Serial Number.

This error occurs when you try to activate your Tally.ERP 9 license with a Tally.Server 9 or Tally.Developer 9 serial number, or vice-versa.

Activate your Tally product using the correct serial number.

Error Code 6234

You cannot upgrade to Tally.ERP 9. Please contact your point of purchase or Tally Solutions for assistance.

This error occurs when you try upgrading from Tally 6.3 or Tally 7.2 to Tally ERP 9 directly.

You must first upgrade to Tally 9 and then upgrade from Tally 9 to Tally.ERP 9. If the problem persists, contact Tally Solutions for help.

Error Code 6267

Surrender your existing license to activate Tally.ERP 9.

This error occurs when you try to activate an upgraded serial number, and the old serial number is yet to be surrendered.

You must surrender the old serial number to activate the upgraded serial number.

Error Code 6415

You have activated maximum of (X) sites. If you need additional site license, contact your point of purchase or Tally Solutions. If you want to use your existing license then surrender any site and reactivate.

This error occurs when you have exceeded the number of sites that can be activated for your serial number.

You need to contact your point of purchase or Tally Solutions for an additional site license. Alternatively, you can surrender any site which is not being used currently and try reactivating the site license in the required computer.

Error Code 6416

Site ID already exists. Specify a different Site ID. If you want to use the same Site, try reactivating the license.

This error occurs when you enter an existing Site ID during activation.

You must enter a different Site ID or reactivate the same, if required, after surrendering the Site.

Error Code 6436

Invalid or incorrect e-mail ID. Enter valid e-mail ID to proceed.

This error occurs when you enter an invalid e-mail ID (not a valid domain name, or e-mail ID format) or an incorrect e-mail ID.

You must enter a valid e-mail ID to proceed.

Error Code 6437

Invalid or incorrect Account ID. Enter valid Account ID.

This error occurs when you enter an invalid or incorrect Account ID during activation.

You must enter a valid Account ID to which you want to add your license.

Error Code 6439

Invalid or incorrect Account ID. Enter valid Account ID to proceed.

This error occurs when you enter an invalid or incorrect Account ID during activation.

You must enter a valid Account ID to which you want to add your license.

Error Code 6444

Invalid or incorrect e-mail ID. Enter valid e-mail ID to proceed.

This error occurs when you enter an invalid or incorrect e-mail ID during activation, reactivation, or any other operation.

You must enter a valid e-mail ID to proceed.

Error Code 6446

Site ID (XX) doesn't belong to Account ID (XY). Please provide correct site ID and try again.

This error occurs when you try to activate a site license which does not belong to the respective Account.

You must provide the correct Site ID and Account ID for activating your site license .

Error Code 6471

This Serial Number cannot be activated. Please contact your point of purchase.

This error occurs when there is a problem with the serial number you have purchased.

You need to contact your point of purchase or Tally Solutions for help.

Error Code 6473

Error Code 6473

When you are activating a new license, this error occurs if you enter an account ID that is already in use in another account.

Enter the correct account ID. An account ID is unique for every customer or account.

Error Code 6628

Invalid or incorrect Account ID. Enter valid Account ID.

This error occurs when you enter an invalid or incorrect Account ID during activation.

You must enter a valid Account ID to proceed.

Activation/Reactivation Error Codes

Error Code 6226

Error Code 6226

This message appears when you are trying to activate or reactivate a Tally.ERP 9 license specific to India or SAARC countries using an international IP or ISP.

Activate or reactivate the Tally.ERP 9 license using an India or SAARC IP, or upgrade to an international license.

Error Code 6276

Unable to reactivate your license. It cannot be used outside SAARC countries. Contact your Tally Partner.

This error occurs when you try to use a license purchased for use in SAARC countries in any other country.

You must purchase a license specific to your country (India, SAARC countries, or International license for other countries). Contact your Tally Partner.

Error Code 6401

This is a multi-site license. Press F2: Multi-Site, to activate this license.

This error occurs when you try to activate a serial number that is linked to a multi-site, using the single-site option.

Press F2: Multi-Site to activate this license.

Error Code 6402

This is a multi-site license. Press F2: Multi-Site to activate this license.

This error occurs when you try to activate a serial number that is linked to a multi-site, using the single-site option.

Press F2: Multi-Site to activate this license.

Error Code 6403

This is a single-site license. Press F2: Single-Site, to activate this license.

This error occurs when you try to activate a serial number that is linked to a single-site, using the multi-site option.

Error Code 6464

Invalid or incorrect e-mail ID. Enter valid e-mail ID.

This error occurs when you enter an invalid e-mail ID (invalid domain name, or e-mail ID format) or an incorrect e-mail ID.

Error Code 6465

Invalid or incorrect e-mail ID. Enter valid e-mail ID.

This error occurs when you enter an invalid e-mail ID (invalid domain name, or e-mail ID format) or an incorrect e-mail ID.

Error Code 6629

Invalid or incorrect Site ID. Enter valid Site ID.

This error occurs when you enter an invalid or incorrect Site ID.

Error Code 209

Unable to activate/reactivate your license.

This error occurs when you try to activate or reactivate your license.

Activation/Reactivation/Updation Error Codes

Error Code 2028

You do not have sufficient rights to perform this action. Contact your account administrator for assistance.

This error occurs when you do not have the required permission to activate, reactivate, surrender, or update your license.

You need to contact your account administrator for help, or use your account administrator details to proceed.

Reactivation Error Codes

Error Code 01

Internal License Error! No Action! Contact Tally Solutions

This error occurs during license reactivation due to the presence of Tally.lic files in the C drive of your computer.

Delete the Tally.lic files from the C drive of your computer, and reactivate the license.

Error Code 50

License file path configured in tallygateway.ini file is invalid. Enter the path where you want the license file to exist.

This error is displayed when the license file path entered is invalid while reactivating the license.

To enter the correct license file path

Go to Gateway of Tally > F12: Configure > Licensing > Configure Existing License .

Enter the correct License file path in the Configure Existing License screen.

Error Code 2012

Invalid or incorrect Tally.NET ID. Enter valid Tally.NET ID.

This error occurs when you enter an incorrect or invalid Tally.NET ID, administrator e-mail ID, or site administrator e-mail ID.

You must enter a valid Tally.NET ID, administrator e-mail ID, or site administrator e-mail ID.

Error Code 2013

Invalid or incorrect Tally.NET ID or password. Enter valid details.

This error occurs when you enter an incorrect or invalid Tally.NET ID, administrator e-mail ID, site administrator e-mail ID, or password.

You must enter a valid Tally.NET ID, administrator e-mail ID, or site administrator e-mail ID, and password.

Error Code 2015

Incorrect password. Enter correct password.

This error occurs when you enter an incorrect password.

You must enter the correct password. Alternatively, you can reset your password.

Error Code 2020

Tally.NET ID should be a valid email address!

This error occurs when you provide an invalid or incorrect e-mail ID as your Tally.NET ID.

You must provide a valid e-mail ID as your Tally.NET ID to proceed. The Tally.NET password will be sent to the same e-mail ID.

Error Code 2045

Invalid or incorrect Site ID. Enter valid Site ID.

This error occurs when you enter an invalid or incorrect Site ID.

You must enter a valid Site ID to proceed.

Error Code 2047

The Tally.NET ID, you gave as current administrator is incorrect!

This error occurs when you provide an incorrect or invalid Account administrator e-mail ID.

You must provide the correct Account administrator e-mail ID for changing the administrator e-mail ID of your account . If you have forgotten your Account administrator e-mail ID, you need to go to the Tally Solutions website and enter your Tally product serial number to view the e-mail ID.

Error Code 6241

Your Tally.ERP 9 Serial Number has been made invalid, since it was found to be running on more than one machine.

This error occurs when your license is in use in more than one computer at different locations.

You need to contact Tally Solutions for help.

Error Code 6243

Your Account administrator has either rejected or not confirmed this site license within specified period. Please contact your account administrator.

This error occurs when your site license activation is not confirmed by your Account administrator within 15 days of activation.

Your Account administrator has to login to Control Centre and confirm your license activation .

Error Code 6266

Invalid or incorrect e-mail ID. Enter valid account administrator or site administrator e-mail ID to proceed.

This error occurs when you provide an e-mail ID which is not authorised to perform any of the license operations.

You must enter a valid administrator or site administrator e-mail ID to perform any licensing operations.

Error Code 6410

Your license is possibly active on another computer. Surrender your license to reactivate here, if required.

This error occurs when you try to activate a license which is active on another computer.

You can surrender the license from Control Centre or Tally Solutions website, and reactivate it in the required computer.

Error Code 6451

Your Serial Number has been suspended, since it was found to be repeatedly running on more than one machine.

This error occurs when your license is in use in two or more computers in different locations.

You need to contact Tally Solutions for help.

Error Code 6457

Your TSS subscription has expired. You can use (Product name) Series A Release (Version) or below. Renew your TSS subscription to upgrade.

This error occurs when your TSS subscription has expired, and you try to reactivate your license after you upgrade to a later release.

You must renew your TSS subscription to use all features of the latest release. Click here to download the earlier version.

Rental License Error Codes

Error Code 6242

Your rental license expired on (date). You can extend your rental period or convert to regular license to continue using all features of the product.

This error occurs when your rental period has expired. Your license will switch to Educational Mode, and you cannot use all features of the product.

You can extend your rental period or purchase a regular license by paying a fixed amount to use all features of the product.

Error Code 6248

The Serial Number used for converting your rental license is already activated. Use a new Serial Number. Please contact your point of purchase for further assistance.

This error occurs when the serial number used for converting a rental license to regular license has already been activated on another computer.

You need to contact the Tally partner from whom you made the purchase, or Tally Solutions for assistance.

Error Code 6253

You cannot change the product edition as your rental period is about to expire. Extend your rental period to change product edition.

This error occurs if you try to change your Tally product edition when your rental license period is about to expire.

You can do the following

Extend your rental period to change the product edition.

Convert the rental license to a regular license , or

Get the required Tally product edition on a rental basis .

Error Code 6268

You cannot activate more than one rental license on the same computer. Contact Tally Solutions for further assistance.

This error occurs when you try to activate more than one rental license on the same machine.

Activate the rental license on another machine.

Surrender Error Codes

Error Code 6227

Surrender failed - please contact Tally Solutions for assistance.

This error occurs when you are unable to surrender your license.

You need to contact Tally Solutions for help.

Error Code 6238

Your license has already been surrendered from (computer name). You are now in Educational Mode. Reactivate your license, if required.

This error occurs when you try to update your license, which is already surrendered from Control Centre or Tally Solutions website.

You must reactivate the license in the computer in which you want to use.

Connectivity Error Codes (Licensing)

Error Code 802

Unable to connect to the Tally server. Contact your system administrator for assistance.

This error occurs when the Windows Firewall is blocking Tally.ERP 9, Tally Gateway Server, or both.

Allow Tally.ERP 9 and Tally Gateway Server through Windows Firewall. Click here , to know how to allow any application through Windows Firewall.

Error Code 803

Unable to connect to the Tally server. Contact your system administrator for assistance.

This error occurs when Tally.ERP 9 is unable to connect to the Tally Server.

Go to Control Panel and check if the Internet connection is enabled or disabled on your computer. If the connection is disabled, enable it.

Check if your LAN cable is connected to both your computer and the network wall socket.

Error Code 804

Unable to connect to the Tally server. Contact your system administrator for assistance.

This error may occur if, the proxy configuration specified is incorrect.

Specify the correct proxy details in the Advanced Configuration screen.

Error Code 805

Unable to connect to the Tally server. Contact your system administrator for assistance.

This error occurs when there is problem with the Internet connection on your computer.

Go to Control Panel and check if the Internet connection is enabled or disabled on your computer. If the connection is disabled, enable it.

Check if your LAN cable is connected to both your computer and the network wall socket.

Error Code 806

Unable to connect to the Tally server. Contact your system administrator for assistance.

This error occurs when there is problem with the Internet connection on your computer.

Go to Control Panel and check if the Internet connection is enabled or disabled on your computer. If the connection is disabled, enable it.

Check if your LAN cable is connected to both your computer and the network wall socket.

Error Code 807

Unable to connect to the Tally server. Contact your system administrator for assistance.

This error may occur if,

There is problem with the Internet connection on your computer.

There is a problem with the hosts file on your computer.

Go to Control Panel and check if the Internet connection is enabled or disabled on your computer. If the connection is disabled, enable it.

Check if your LAN cable is connected to both your computer and the network wall socket.

Ask your system administrator to ensure that the Tally Server is mapped to the correct IP address in the hosts file (C:\Windows\System32\Drivers\etc\hosts) on your computer.

Error Code 808

Unable to connect to the Tally server. Contact your system administrator for assistance.

This error occurs when Tally.ERP 9 is unable to connect to the Tally Server.

Go to Control Panel and check if the Internet connection is enabled or disabled on your computer. If the connection is disabled, enable it.

Check if your LAN cable is connected to both your computer and the network wall socket.

Error Code 809

Unable to connect to the Tally server. Contact your system administrator for assistance.

This error occurs when Tally.ERP 9 is unable to connect to the Tally Server.

Go to Control Panel and check if the Internet connection is enabled or disabled on your computer. If the connection is disabled, enable it.

Check if your LAN cable is connected to both your computer and the network wall socket.

Connectivity Error Codes (Licensing and Tally.NET Features)

Error Code 39

Unable to update your license.

When you try to activate, reactivate, or update your license, this error occurs due to either of the following: When Microsoft Windows Firewall in your computer is blocking Tally.ERP 9 services, or when a company is connected to Tally.NET server (by pressing F4: Connect from Gateway of Tally ).

Go to Gateway of Tally > F12: Configure > Advanced Configuration .

o Set Use absolute URL for HTTP actions? to Yes .

o Set Allow Non-HTTP headers to Yes .

o Set the correct proxy details.

o Press Enter to save.

Allow Tally Gateway Server through MS Windows Firewall .

Set the option Connect company on loading to No , in the TSS Features screen.

Error Code 48

Connection timed out! Please try after sometime.

This error occurs when Tally.ERP 9 does not receive a response from the Tally Server within the specified time duration.

Check your internet connection, and try again after sometime.

Alter the connection configuration and try again.

If the problem persists, contact Tally Solutions for help.

Error Code 6612

The server is busy, please try after few minutes.

This error occurs when the Tally servers are unable to process your request.

You can try again after sometime. If the problem persists, contact Tally Solutions for help.

Tally Gateway Server Configuration Error Codes

Error Code 208/0

Unable to find Tally Gateway Server(s).

This error occurs when Tally.ERP 9 is not able to find Tally Gateway Server(s) to access the license.

Go to Control Panel and check if the LAN connection is enabled or disabled on your computer. If the connection is disabled, enable it.

Check if your LAN cable is connected to both your computer and the network wall socket.

Check if Windows Firewall is blocking Tally Gateway Server. Click here , to know how to allow any application through Windows Firewall.

Check if you license is active. If your license is not active in your local network, activate or reactivate it.

Error Code 401

Unable to connect to the Tally Gateway Server(s).

This error occurs when Tally.ERP 9 is unable to connect to the configured Tally Gateway Server and Port.

Go to Control Panel and check if the LAN connection is enabled or disabled on your computer. If the connection is disabled, enable it.

Check if your LAN cable is connected to both your computer and the network wall socket.

After you have resolved the network issue you can:

Retry, or

Reconfigure your existing license.

Error Code 402

Unable to connect to the Tally Gateway Server(s/)Port.

This error occurs when Tally.ERP 9 is unable to connect to the configured Tally Gateway Server and Port. If the Windows Firewall is blocking Tally.ERP 9, Tally Gateway Server, or both, this error may occur.

Allow Tally.ERP 9 and Tally Gateway Server through Windows Firewall. Click here , to know how to allow any application through Windows Firewall.

After you have resolved the network issue you can:

Retry, or

Reconfigure your existing license.

Error Code 403

Unable to connect to the Tally Gateway Server(s)/Port. Contact your system administrator for assistance.

This error may occur if,

The Server name/IP address or Port of your Tally Gateway Server specified is incorrect.

Tally Gateway Server is not installed on the computer specified in the Configure Existing License screen.

Windows Firewall is blocking Tally.ERP 9, Tally Gateway Server, or both.

There is a problem with the LAN connection on your computer.

Your Tally Gateway Server is not receiving requests from the specified port.

Check if the Server name/IP address specified in the Configure Existing License screen is correct.

Alternatively, press F2 in the Configure Existing License screen to select a Tally Gateway Server.

Check if the Tally Gateway Server is installed on the computer specified in the configuration.

Allow Tally.ERP 9 and Tally Gateway Server through Windows Firewall. Click here , to know how to allow any application through Windows Firewall.

Go to Control Panel and check if the LAN connection is enabled or disabled on your computer. If the connection is disabled, enable it.

Check if your LAN cable is connected to both your computer and the network wall socket.

Error Code 405

Unable to connect to the Tally Gateway Server(s)/Port. Contact your system administrator for assistance.

This error may occur if,

If the Server name/IP address or Port of your Tally Gateway Server specified is incorrect or invalid, this error may occur.

Check if the Server name/IP address specified in the Configure Existing License screen is correct.

Alternatively, press F2 in the Configure Existing License screen to select a Tally Gateway Server.

Error Code 406

Unable to connect to the Tally Gateway Server(s)/Port. Contact your system administrator for assistance.

This error occurs when Tally.ERP 9 is unable to connect to the configured Tally Gateway Server and Port.

Go to Control Panel and check if the Internet connection is enabled or disabled on your computer. If the connection is disabled, enable it.

Check if your LAN cable is connected to both your computer and the network wall socket.

After you have resolved the network issue you can:

Retry.

Error Code 407

Unable to connect to the Tally Gateway Server(s)/Port. Contact your system administrator for assistance.

This error occurs when Tally.ERP 9 is unable to connect to the configured Tally Gateway Server and Port. If the Tally Gateway Server specified in the Configure Existing License screen does not exist in your current network, this error may occur.

Check if the Server name/IP address and Port specified in the Configure Existing License screen is correct.

Alternatively, press F2 in the Configure Existing License screen to select a Tally Gateway Server.

Go to Control Panel and check if the LAN connection is enabled or disabled on your computer. If the connection is disabled, enable it.

Check if your LAN cable is connected to both your computer and the network wall socket.

Error Code 408

Unable to connect to the Tally Gateway Server(s)/Port. Contact your system administrator for assistance

This error occurs when Tally.ERP 9 is unable to connect to the configured Tally Gateway Server and Port.

Go to Control Panel and check if the LAN connection is enabled or disabled on your computer. If the connection is disabled, enable it.

Check if your LAN cable is connected to both your computer and the network wall socket.

Check if the Server name/IP address specified in the Configure Existing License screen is correct.

Alternatively, press F2 in the Configure Existing License screen to select a Tally Gateway Server.

Error Code 409

Unable to connect to the Tally Gateway Server(s)/Port. Contact your system administrator for assistance

This error occurs when Tally.ERP 9 is unable to connect to the configured Tally Gateway Server and Port.

Go to Control Panel and check if the LAN connection is enabled or disabled on your computer. If the connection is disabled, enable it.

Check if your LAN cable is connected to both your computer and the network wall socket.

Check if the Server name/IP address specified in the Configure Existing License screen is correct.

Alternatively, press F2 in the Configure Existing License screen to select a Tally Gateway Server.

Error Code 410

Unable to connect to the Tally Gateway Server(s)/Port. Contact your system administrator for assistance

This error may occur if, the Server name/IP address of your Tally Gateway Server specified in the Configure Existing License is incorrect or invalid.

Check if the Server name/IP address specified in the Configure Existing License screen is correct.

Alternatively, press F2 in the Configure Existing License screen to select a Tally Gateway Server.

Error Code 411

Unable to connect to the configured Tally License Server (Localhost) on Port 25000. Contact your system administrator for assistance.

This error may occur if, the current release of Tally.ERP 9  is not compatible with the License Server running on the Server name and port specified in the Configure Existing License screen.

Reconfigure your existing license

o Select License File in Configure license using field.

o Specify the License file path .

Search for the required Tally Gateway Server(s)

o Press F2 in the Configure Existing License screen to select a Tally Gateway Server.

Activate a new license on this computer.

Reactivate your existing license on this computer.

Error Code 412

Unable to connect to the Tally Gateway Server(s)/Port. Contact your system administrator for assistance.

This error may occur if, If your Tally Gateway Server service has stopped.

Restart your Tally Gateway Server service.

Check if the Server name/IP address specified in the Configure Existing License screen is correct.

Alternatively, press F2 in the Configure Existing License screen to select a Tally Gateway Server.

Licensing Configuration Error Codes

Error Code 11

License file is being accessed by another program. Please try after some time.

This error occurs when you try to access the tally.lic license file when another instance of Tally.ERP 9 is accessing the file.

To access the file, you must close all the running instances of Tally.ERP 9, and retry.

Or

Open Task Manager and end all the running instances of Tally.ERP 9 on your computer. If the problem persists, contact Tally Solutions for help.

Error Code 12

License file has inadequate security permission set. Please check the security permission and try again.

This error occurs when the tally.lic license file is set to Read-only , or when you do not have the required write permission to access the Tally.ERP 9 installation folder.

You need to clear the Read-only option for the tally.lic file in the Tally.ERP 9 installation folder. Allow Write permission to access the Tally.ERP 9 folder.

Error Code 14

License file is either corrupted or not found.

This error occurs when there is a problem with the tally.lic license file in the Tally.ERP 9 installation folder.

Delete the tally.lic file from the Tally.ERP 9 installation folder, and try to reactivate the license . If the problem persists, contact Tally Solutions for help.

Error Code 15

Encrypted License file is being accessed by another program. Please try after some time.

This error occurs when you try to access the tally.lic license file when another instance of Tally.ERP 9 is accessing the file.

To clear the Read-only option for the license file

1. Open the Tally.ERP 9 installation folder.

2. Right-click on the tally.lic file and select Properties . The tally.lic Properties window appears.

3. Clear the option Read-only .

4. Click Apply and OK to save the settings.

To check if you have Write permission to the Tally.ERP 9 folder

1. Right-click on the Tally.ERP 9 folder where the license file tally.lic is available.

2. Select the option Properties . The Tally.ERP 9 Properties window appears.

3. Click the Security tab and select the user who requires write permission to access the folder.

4. Check if you have Write permission in the Permissions for Administrator section.

5. If you have Write permission, click Cancel to exit the Tally.ERP 9 Properties window.

6. If you do not have the required permission, click Edit .

7. Allow the Write permission.

8. Click Apply and OK to save the properties.

Error Code 2030

Security Level Already Exists

This error occurs when you provide a security level name which already exists.

You need to enter a unique security level name for your account.

Error Code 2035

User already exists.

This error occurs when you provide an e-mail ID which is already in use by another user.

You need to provide a different e-mail ID.

Error Code 2046

Cannot create more Tally.NET user/Tally.NET Auditor/Tally.NET Expert. You have already reached eligible limit.

This error occurs when you have created the maximum number of Tally.NET users allowed to access your company data for your license.

Delete one or more existing Tally.NET users who are not accessing the company data, to create a new Tally.NET user. The maximum number of Tally.NET users that can be created for Tally.ERP 9 Silver Edition is one, for Tally.ERP 9 Gold Edition is 10, and for Tally.Server 9 is 50.

Error Code 2209

Tally.NET ID should be valid email address!

This error occurs when you provide an invalid or incorrect e-mail ID as your Tally.NET ID.

You must provide a valid e-mail ID as your Tally.NET ID to proceed. The Tally.NET password will be sent to the same e-mail ID.

Error Code 2210

Cannot delete! One/more user(s) are linked with Security Level, you are trying to delete.

This error occurs when you try to delete a security level which is assigned to one or more users.

To delete a security level, you must first assign a different security level to the users who are assigned this security level, and then delete. You can also alter a security level or create a new security level for Tally.NET users.

Error Code 2213

The Tally.NET ID, you gave as current administrator is incorrect!

This error occurs when you provide an incorrect or invalid administrator e-mail ID.

You must provide a valid administrator e-mail ID for changing the administrator e-mail ID of your Account. If you have forgotten your administrator e-mail ID, go to the Tally Solutions website and enter your Tally product serial number to view your administrator e-mail ID.

Error Code 2216

Security level 'Standard User' cannot be deleted.

This error occurs when you try to delete a predefined security level in Tally.ERP 9.

You cannot delete a predefined security level in Tally.ERP 9. You can create a new security level and assign the security level to the required Tally.NET users.

Error Code 2217

Account/Site administrator cannot be deleted.

This error occurs when you try to delete your account administrator or site administrator.

To delete or change an Account/Site administrator, you to need to change the account or site administrator e-mail ID , and then delete it.

Error Code 2219

You cannot create a security level named 'Owner'.

This error occurs when you try to create a security level with the name Owner .

Owner is a predefined security level in Tally.ERP 9. You must provide a different name for the security level .

Error Code 2220

Security level 'Standard User' cannot be renamed.

This error occurs when you try to rename the predefined security level Standard User .

You cannot rename or delete a predefined security level. You can create a new security level and assign the security level to the required Tally.NET users.

Error Code 2221

Security level should have at least one rights/facility.

This error occurs when you try to create a security level without access rights associated to it.

You cannot create a security level without access rights associated to it. Every security level should have one or more access rights associated to it.

Error Code 6405

Incorrect password. Enter correct password to proceed.

This error occurs when you enter an incorrect password.

You must enter the correct password. If you do not remember the password, press F5: Reset Password , a link will be sent to your e-mail ID to reset your password.

Error Code 6505

You have entered invalid Scratch keys. Enter valid Scratch keys.

This error occurs when you enter invalid or incorrect scratch keys.

You must enter valid scratch keys to complete the payment process. Alternatively, you can pay using your credit/debit card or via net banking.

Error Code 6513

Insufficient TallyCurrency(s)! Please mention (X) amount of TallyCurrency(s).

This error occurs when the Scratch key(s) you provided has insufficient Tally Currency.

You must provide additional Scratch key(s) that has the required Tally Currency. Alternatively, you can pay using your credit/debit card or via net banking .

Error Code 6517

Payment is unsuccessful.

This error occurs when the payment process is interrupted or not successful.

You can try again later, or choose an alternate method of payment ( Credit/debit card , net banking , or Tally Currency ). If the problem persists, contact Tally Solutions for help.
