You need to run Tally.ERP 9 in administrator mode to perform most of the licensing related operations.
To run Tally.ERP 9 with administrator rights
1. Go to the folder where Tally.ERP 9 is installed.
2. Right-click your tally.exe.
3. Select Properties .
4. Click Compatibility .
5. Check the option Run this program as an administrator .
6. Click OK to save the settings.
