Tally Not Responding while Opening a Company
While loading the company, Tally.ERP 9 walks through all the masters and vouchers to arrive at the closing balance as on date. This helps execute the Financial reports and MIS reports instantly.
The time taken to load a company depends on the statistics of the following:
● Total Vouchers
● Total Masters
o Stock Group
o Stock Item
o Accounting Group
o Accounting Ledgers
o Godowns/Batches, if any
o Stock Valuation method
● Customizations – Add-ons or TCP’s/TDL, if any
● System Configuration and available RAM size
● Option Connect company on Load is enabled in TSS Features .
Solution You can try any of the following to open the company data quickly.
1. Disable the option Connect company on Load as per the steps given below:
● Go to Gateway of Tally > F11 > F3 > TSS Features .
● Set the option Connect company on load to No and accept the screen to save the changes.
● Reload the company and check
2. Disable the customization and reload the company. You need to disable the customisations as there is a possibility that some the customised fields might be stored in the company masters.
3. Check the Tally Application Memory consumption while loading the company. The company loading time depends on the system configuration, which is the RAM and the Processor. In case the data volume is high, the memory consumption will also be high. Check with your system administrator if this needs a system upgrade.
4. Check the possibility of splitting the data, if the data volume is high.
5. Ensure that only one instance of Tally application is open while loading the company. If multiple instances of Tally are already open, close all those instances which are idle.
