1.

Could not install product SDK during installation of Tally.ERP 9

Cause: This message appears when installation of Software Development Kit (SDK) fails. This could be due to the installer being corrupt, or because of older SDK components in the installation path being in use.

Solution: Close all the old SDK files being used in the installation folder and try reinstalling. If the problem persists, download a new SDK installer from the download center (in the Tally.Developer 9 support files section) and retry.

2.

Unable to uninstall existing Tally License Server

Cause: This message appears while doing a new installation over an existing installation, and the gateway server could not be replaced. It may also occur if the gateway could not be replaced while upgrading the product to a new release.

Solution: Stop gateway manually using the windows services menu or task manager, and try again.

3.

File(s) in the installation folder are in use. Close the file(s) and try again.

Cause: This error occurs when one or more files in the installation folder are in use.

Solution: Close all running instances of files in the installation folder and try again. If you are using the online installer, retry the installation, or download full installer from the download center and install again.

4.

Could not install product help

Cause: Installation of the product help can fail if the installer is corrupt, or when old help files in the installation folder are already open, and in use.

Solution: Close all instances of the help file that may be open and reinstall the help. If the installation fails again, download a new help installer from the download center, and retry.

5.

Download Failed. Ensure that you do not have any download limit preventing the download OR download and use a FULL installer.

Cause: This message appears during installation using online installer or during upgrade, as Tally Installation Pack download is interrupted due to loss of internet connectivity.

Solution: Connect to internet and try again.

6.

Internal Error of .cap File

Cause: This error occurs due to a problem with the .cap file in Tally.ERP 9.

Solution:

Note the capsule number displayed in the error message. For example, 41194-00004.cap .

Close Tally.ERP 9. In a multi-user scenario, close both the server and client instances.

Go to the Tally.ERP 9 installation folder in the server and client computers, and open the Capsules folder.

In the server and client application folders, delete the capsule (.cap) file that was displayed in the error message.

Connect to the internet and open Tally.ERP 9. The deleted capsule will be downloaded again.

7.

Error 2147483650

Cause: This error occurs due to corrupted data files, while accessing data over a network in a multi-user environment. The data may be corrupted due to network fluctuation or when different types of network such as LAN and WIFI are used in the multi-user environment.

Solution: This issue can be resolved by doing a zero re-write of data. However, ensure that you take a data backup before doing zero re-write. Additionally, take the following measures to ensure this error does not occur again.

Correct the fluctuations in the ping speed.

In case there are any WIFI systems installed in the network, isolate that system to stop this problem from occurring repeatedly.

Use same category of cable, preferably CAT 6 in all the client systems.

Include Tally.ERP 9 data files in the exceptions list of your antivirus software.
