You can alter bank ledger for changing the cheque printing configurations, with or without Internet connectivity. You can use the pre-defined measurements or manually enter the cheque dimensions.
Note: Ensure the option Enable cheque printing is set to Yes in F11: Features > F1: Accounting.
To alter a bank ledger when you are connected to the Internet
1. Go to Gateway of Tally > Accounts Info. > Alter.
2. Select the bank ledger, for example DBS Bank.
3. Rename the bank ledger to Standard Chartered Bank.
4. Select Standard Chartered Bank (India) as the Bank under Bank Account Details.
5. Enable the option Set cheque printing configuration. The Ledger Alteration screen appears as shown below:
The Cheque format selection screen appears as shown below:
6. Select the required format from the list provided for the bank. The cheque printing configurations gets pre-filled as per the format.
7. Click P: Print to preview the settings. The Sample Cheque Printing screen appears.
8. Press Enter to preview.
9. Enter Mailing Details if required.
10. Press Enter.
11. Press Enter to save the ledger.
In the absence of a particular format or on unavailability of formats, the dimensions can be entered manually.
1. Enable Set Cheque Printing Configuration.
2. The Cheque Format Selection screen will display the following message.
3. Press Ctrl+U to specify user defined dimensions.
Once the configurations are pre-filled or manually entered, the sample cheque can be generated.
You can alter you bank ledger for cheque printing configuration even when you are not connected to the Internet.
To alter your bank ledger offline
1. Select the State Bank of India bank ledger in the ledger alteration screen.
2. Rename it as Syndicate Bank.
3. Select the Bank name from the List of Banks, for example Syndicate Bank (India).
Note: The first time you create a bank ledger, you must have Internet connectivity to be able to select the bank name. While altering the bank ledger offline, you can still select the bank name from the List of Banks, even without Internet connectivity.
4. Under Bank Configuration, enable the Set cheque printing configuration option to Yes. The Cheque Dimensions screen appears.
5. Enter the cheque dimensions manually or click the Copy From button (Ctrl+C) to copy the predefined dimensions as shown:
6. Press Ctrl+A to accept the Cheque Dimensions screen to view the Sample Cheque Printing screen.
7. Click Yes to generate the preview and then return to ledger master.
