GST stands for Goods and Service Tax.
A person is required to register for GST when his annual taxable supplies exceed or are expected to exceed S$1 million. However, a person may apply for voluntary registration even if his taxable supplies do not exceed S$1 million. Once he has registered voluntarily, he is required to remain registered for at least 2 years.
Inland Revenue Authority of Singapore: The IRAS holds the responsibility of collecting GST. A Comptroller is appointed for the administration of the GST Act.
