Service Tax

• A provision is made to generate ST3 returns in new xml schema: In compliance with the changes made to the xml file format and validation tool by the department, provision is now made to export the ST3 return in the new xml schema.

Excise

• Balance CENVAT credit was displayed incorrectly when CENVAT credit from previous returns was brought forward as opening balance, resolved: When the CENVAT credit balance from the previous period was brought forward as opening balance, the same was not added to the CENVAT credit availed in the current year, but was deducted from the same.

  Now, CENVAT credit brought forward from previous return period is added to the CENVAT credit availed in current period to show the balance available credit.

• All items were being displayed in Daily Stock Register even when tariff filter was applied, resolved: The Daily Stock Register in an excise manufacturer company was displaying all items irrespective of the tariff selected in the Select Excise Unit screen. All the tariffs were being displayed in the Descript of Goods column of the report.

  Now Daily Stock Register displays details after filtering the items based on tariff selected in Select Excise Unit screen.

VAT

• A provision is made to generate annexures without commodity names: VAT annexures of Chandigarh and Gujarat are now generated without commodity details when commodity is not tagged in masters. Exception is also created in validation to allow annexures without commodity details.
