Changing the Tally.NET Password

On creating the Tally.NET Account, a system generated password is sent to the account administrator or site administrator. This password is used to log in to Tally.ERP 9.

Tally.ERP 9 prompts the user to change the password on attempting to open any of the following screens:

  • Remote Tally.NET User

  • Support Centre

  • Control Centre

  • Surrender License

  • Update License

Note: It is recommended to change the password before performing any other operations.

Rules for Creating Passwords

  • The password can contain upper case letters, lower case letters, numbers, and special characters

  • Minimum of 5 characters and a maximum of 18 characters

  • The password is case insensitive, can be entered in either upper case or lower case or both  

On providing the required e-mail ID of the and the password in any one of the above mentioned screens, the Change My Password screen appears as shown below:

  • Enter the required details, and press Enter to change the password.
