  PAN structure will be validated to ensure:

  1. • There are 10 characters

     • The format is 5 alphabets, 4 numeric values and 1 alphabet, for example, AAAPS1234A

     • The 4^th character represents a valid deductee type (C, P, H, F, A, T, B, L, J, G)

  If any of the above conditions are not met, an error message gets displayed to inform about the invalid PAN structure. Only after correcting it, the cursor will move to the next field.

  In lieu of PAN, the following text can be entered to proceed with employee master creation:

  1. • PANNOTAVBL if PAN is not available

     • PANAPPLIED if PAN is applied for but yet to be received

     • PANINVALID if PAN is invalid.

• In payroll voucher, the Nickname predefined for an employee was not being displayed in the Bank Allocation screen, resolved: While recording payroll voucher, the bank allocations screen was not displaying Nickname of the employee.   Now, Bank Allocations screen displays the Nickname of the employee as recorded in the employee master.

  Now, if the specific Company had any income tax payhead (Statutory Pay Type tagged as Income Tax) configured, then, while processing salary using A: Payroll Auto Fill, the narration displays the Pay Period along with the selected  type of Income Tax computation (Declared Value or Proof Value).

• HRA amount mismatch in HRA Computation and Income Tax Calculations when HRA was negative, resolved: In any month, if the HRA amount was negative, the same was displayed in HRA Calculation report, but was not being considered for calculation in Income Tax Computation. Hence, there was a mismatch in the values displayed for House Rent Allowance in HRA Computation and Income Tax Calculation reports.

  Now, when HRA is negative, the same will be displayed as zero in reports to help in calculation, and to avoid mismatch in different reports.

  Now, Serial No. column is displayed in the Pay Sheet report when this option is enabled. It is set to No by default, and can be enabled only when Show Employees by Categories & Groups option is set to No.

• Employee Pay Head Breakup report was displaying names of resigned employees and those not enclosed under pay head, resolved:  In Employee Pay Head Breakup report, the names of resigned employees or employees who retired in the months before the report period were being included. These names were being displayed even after disabling the options Show Resigned / Retired Employees  in the F12: Payroll Configuration from Gateway of Tally.

  Now, names of the employees covered under the pay head and currently in active services will only be displayed.

  The Total column in Payroll Statement report will now display accurate value when two or more pay head columns are selected in the report.

  Now, payroll vouchers with zero value, and those containing pay heads with zero value, will be successfully saved. This measure will help record a salary voucher for a period where employees have availed the amount in advance.

This was occurring because NPS amount contributed by employer was not getting added to the gross salary.

  Now the column Total amount of salary (see note 4 appearing at the end of the main form) in Form 24Q - Annexure II displays the total salary including NPS amount contributed by employer.
