To use a full version of Tally.ERP 9 you must activate the Tally.ERP 9 license first. Activating the Tally.ERP 9 license is a two-step process:
1. Activating the license
To activate a single site account
1. Start Tally.ERP 9.
2. Click A:Activate License in the Startup screen.
The Activate License form appears as shown below:
3. Enter the details in the Activate License form, and press Enter. A confirmation message appears on successful activation.

Note: The account related information like serial number, activation key, unlock key, and so on is sent to the e-mail ID specified in the Activate License form.
To activate the multi site account
1. Start Tally.ERP 9.
2. Click A:Activate License in the Startup screen.
3. Click F2: Multi Site in the Activate License screen.
The Activate Site License form appears as shown below:
4. Enter all details in the Activate Site License form, and press Enter.
Note: Use the existing Account ID to activate the new/subsequent sites.
The User Resolution screen to activate a new site appears as shown below:
5. Click Create a new account or Add to existing account.
● The option Create a new account creates a new account for the serial number.
● The option Add to existing account opens the User Resolution screen as shown below. This will add the serial number to an existing account.
6. Click Create a new Site in the User Resolution screen to create new site with the Site ID specified in the activation screen, or click Reactivate existing Site to reactivate an existing site.
A confirmation message is displayed on successful activation.
