The Restore functionality allows you to restore the data backup of multiple companies, taken earlier. The backup of the companies is stored in a single file, named TABK.900, in the path defined by the user while creating backup. While restoring the backup data, Tally.ERP 9 displays the backup version followed by the last update time.
Before you take a data backup, ensure that you:
● Do not restore very old or irrelevant data.
● Do not restore data from damaged media.
● Do not restore data in the same folder as the existing data, since it may overwrite the existing data.
To restore the data backup
1. Go to Gateway of Tally > F3: Cmp Info > Restore to view the Restore Companies screen.
2. Enter the Destination path - the location where data backup is to be restored.
3. Enter the Source path, where data backup files of multiple companies are stored.
Note: The path specified can be on the same storage device, on an external storage device, or on a storage device on the network.
4. Select the required companies in BackUp or Auto Backup, as shown below:
5. Press Ctrl+A to restore the data backup.
