This feature is useful for businesses that deal in goods that have expiry dates, like medicines, food and other perishables. During voucher entry, the date of the voucher is taken as the manufacturing date of the product, by default. This can be changed, but not to a date later than the voucher date. Expiry date cannot be a date prior to the voucher date.
Note: The manufacturing date cannot be later than the voucher date. The expiry date cannot be earlier than the manufacturing date.
Record a purchase voucher using the following details:
Voucher date: 18-11-2014
No. of items:250
Price: Rs.10 each.
Batch no.: SP-1062
Manufacturing date: 01-11-2013
Expiry date: 30-11-2014
In the manufacturing date field, by default it takes the voucher date in the format of month and year. In Expiry date field, by default it set as Blank. You can specify the expiry date.
Selecting batch-wise details for sales voucher:
Example:
Record a sales voucher using the following details:
Voucher date:18-11-2014
No. of item: 100 nos.
Price: Rs.15 each
Batch no. SP-1062.
In the List of Active Batches table, only those batches are displayed that have not reached their expiration date as on the sales voucher date. In the above scenario the batch SP-1062 is displayed as the expiry date of the batch is after the sales voucher date i.e., 30-11-2014. If the sales voucher date was on 02-12-2014, the batch would not be displayed in the List of Active Batches table as the expiry date is earlier than the sales voucher date.
This is because the option Honor Expiry Dates usage for Batches is set to YES in F12 Configure (Voucher Entry Configuration).
If you want to list the expired batches during sales entry, set Honor expiry Dates usage for Batches to NO in F12 Configure.
