Configuring Client or Server

You need to configure your computer to be a client, server, or both for synchronising data. The data exchange happens between the client and server based on the rules defined.

To configure the system as client or server for synchronisation

1. Go to Gateway of Tally > F12: Configure > Advanced Configuration . The Advanced Configuration screen appears as shown below:

2. Configure your system as client or server, or both.

3. Set the option Enable ODBC server? to Yes for ODBC connectivity.

4. Specify the required Port (for example: 9000).

The configuration details are displayed in the Configuration block of Gateway of Tally .

Note: To retain the server configuration on the client system, go to the Tally.ERP 9 application folder on the server system, copy the Tally.ini file and paste it in the Tally.ERP 9 application folder on the client system.
