To create a tax unit, enable the option in the company's F11: Features > Statutory & Taxation for multiple tax units.
To create a tax unit
1. Go to Gateway of Tally > Accounting Info. > Statutory Info. > Tax Unit > Create.
2. Enter the tax unit Name.
3. Enter the Address.
4. Select the State from the List of States.
5. Enter the Pincode of the state selected.
6. Enter the Telephone number.
7. Enable Set/alter service tax details? to view the Service Tax Details screen.
o Enter the Service tax registration number in the Tax unit Service Tax Details screen.
o Select the Type of organisation from the List of Organisations.
o Select the basis of computation in the Compute liability based on field, if applicable.
o Enable Set/alter category details?, if required.
To set the service tax details
Enter the Name of the category.
Enter rate of Service tax.
Enter rate of Education cess, if required.
Enter rate of Secondary education cess, if required.
Enter rate of Swachh Bharat Cess.
Press Enter to save. The completed Service Category Alteration (Secondary) screen appears as shown below:
The completed Tax Unit Creation screen appears as shown below:
o Press Enter to save.
