KSA VAT in TallyPrime
As mandated by the Zakat, Tax and Customs Authority (ZATCA), you must integrate your e-Invoicing solution if your business operates in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA).
TallyPrime helps you manage KSA VAT and e-Invoicing requirements, from setting up your company and masters to recording transactions, generating and exchanging e-Invoices, and reviewing VAT details.
Company Setup for KSA e-Invoicing
Set up your company based on the e-Invoicing phase applicable to your business:
- e-Invoicing Integration phase to exchange e-Invoices online with ZATCA. Know more about mandatory details and best practices to get started with e-Invoice Integration.
- e-Invoicing Generation phase to generate e-Invoices offline and submit them as required.
After setting up your company, configure the masters required for recording transactions and generating e-Invoices.
Masters Setup for KSA VAT and e-Invoicing
Configure the following masters with the required tax and e-Invoicing details:
- Voucher Types to define the e-Invoicing behaviour for transactions recorded using the voucher types.
- Stock Items and Stock Groups to configure the items and common e-Invoicing details applicable to your goods.
- Party Ledgers to record customer details, including VAT registration numbers and addresses.
- Sales and Purchase Ledgers to record taxable sales and purchases.
- Tax Ledger to calculate and account for VAT.
- Expense Ledger to record taxable expenses and input VAT, where applicable.
- Service Ledger to record service transactions and generate e-Invoices for services.
e-Invoice Generation
Once the required masters are configured, record your sales and purchase transactions with the appropriate VAT details.
For sales transactions, TallyPrime supports the following e-Invoicing scenarios:
- Sales e-Invoices: Generate e-Invoices in online mode during the Integration phase or offline mode during the Generation phase.
- Multiple e-Invoices: Process and generate multiple e-Invoices together.
- Advance receipts: Generate e-Invoices when you receive payment before supplying goods or services.
- Adjustment of advances: Adjust the advance amount against the final sales invoice.
- Credit Notes: Record sales returns, discounts, or reductions in the invoice value.
- Debit Notes: Record additional charges or increases in the value of a previously issued invoice.
For other sales transaction scenarios, record the transactions using the appropriate masters and VAT ledger.
Similarly, record purchase transactions using the appropriate masters and VAT ledger.
e-Invoice Exchange and Status
After generating e-Invoices, use the available reports and capabilities to manage their exchange and status.
- Enter valid Buyer ID details to ensure successful invoice exchange. ZATCA validates the customer TIN and CRN.
- Import Stock Items and Ledgers into TallyPrime with e-Invoicing fields and Arabic language details, and send them to the KSA e-Invoicing system.
- View the e-Invoice Overview report for B2C, B2B, or both to check the reporting status of B2C e-Invoices and clearance status of B2B e-Invoices.
- Retrieve the PDF A3 file from e-Invoice Archives for the Integration phase and from e-Invoice Register for the Generation phase.
- Identify and monitor tampered e-Invoices in the e-Invoice Event Log.
