Implications:
● Server List will not appear on Tally.ERP 9 client.
Server list is fetched with the help of Tally License Server. If Gold license Server IP and port are not mentioned is not mentioned/ wrongly mentioned (Server IP address/ Name or Port is wrong) Server List will not appear.
1. Open Tally.Server Monitor.
2. Go to Alt + S: Manage Server > F4: Setup.
3. Specify the Gold License IP and Port under Tally.ERP 9 License Server details.
4. Accept the screen and check in the client machine(s).
There is a mismatch in the version of tallylicserver (application) available in both Tally.Server 9 and Tally.ERP 9
Both versions should be 7.8
If in the Tally.Server 9 and Tally.ERP 9, license is configured as “Local Host” or “Server Name”
● For Tally.ERP 9 : Open Tally.ERP 9 > Specify IP address in F12 > Licensing > Configure Existing License.
● For Tally.Server 9 : Open Monitor Tool > Click on Manage Server > F3: Licensing > Configure Existing License.
● For Tally.Server 9 : Open Monitor Tool > Click on Manage Server > F4:Setup > Under “Tally.ERP 9 License Server Details” > specify IP address and Port number of Tally.ERP 9
Note : The above reason could be if DNS (Domain Name Server) is not working.
If there is only one data location and that one is hidden, Alt+S option will not display in Tally.ERP 9 client
If control access is enabled and user details are not mapped or linked with Data end point , then Server list or data end point published will not be listed.
You face a connection error in Tally.Server Monitor; if user opts to work in Educational mode, the message ‘No Tally.Server is running’ is displayed.
On client machine(s), Server List will not appear.
Server List is fetched with the help of Tally License Server. If it is configured wrongly, Server List will not be displayed.
In Tally.Server Monitor, if License is configured with wrong IP address/Port number.
1. Open Tally.Server Monitor.
2. Configure existing License.
3. Specify the correct License IP address and Port number.
4. Accept the screen.
5. Close Tally.Server Monitor and reopen.
When the second instance is used, the error message “\iles in EXCLUSIVE use by another user. Need to exit” is displayed. Tally.ERP 9 will close on selecting OK.
You can't access data in Tally.ERP 9 client.
● The same data is being accessed using Windows Share and Tally.Server 9 simultaneously
● The same company is opened from two instances, one using Shared Path (via Windows Share) and the other using Tally.Server 9.
● Unshare the folder.
● Access the data using the Tally.Server 9.
● If Security Access is enabled in Tally.Server Monitor, user will not be able to login.
● If Security Access is disabled in Tally.Server Monitor, user will not be able to perform any licensing & authentication operations.
Incorrect proxy is configured in Tally.Server Monitor > Manage Server > Advance Configuration, users will be unable to perform any Licensing or authentication activities.
1. Open Tally.Server Monitor.
2. Configure the correct proxy settings in Alt+S: Manage Server > F7: Advance Configuration.
In spite of configuring the correct Gold License Server in Tally.Server Monitor, Server List option is not available for Tally.ERP 9 clients.
Server List will not be available in Tally.ERP 9 client machines.
Data Location is hidden and hence, the Server List option is not available for Tally.ERP 9 clients.
1. Open Tally.Server Monitor > Alt + S: Manage Server > F4: Setup
2. Check the data path.
3. Remove the @@ from the Data Path.
4. Accept the screen and check in Tally.ERP 9 client(s).
5. Tally.ERP 9 client(s) will be able to access Server List and data from the same.
You get a Connection Error in the Tally.Server Monitor of the second system:
If Esc is pressed and Work in Educational Mode is selected, the following message will be displayed:
Tally.Server Monitor can only run in Educational Mode.
● The License Server IP address and Port number configured in Tally.Server Monitor is wrong and hence you can't to access the License Server.
● If two Tally.Server Monitors, each in different systems are configured with the same License Server and then the License Port number/IP address is changed from the Tally.Server Monitor in the second system.
1. Check for the correct License Server IP address and Port number.
2. Select Re-Configure Existing License in Tally.Server Monitor.
3. Enter the correct IP address and Port number of the License Server.
4. Open tssvc.ini and enter the correct IP number/port number.
5. Restart the Tally.Server 9 service from Service Manager (services.msc).
On opening Tally.Server Monitor, the following error message is displayed:
You will not be able to work on Tally.Server Monitor.
Tally.Server Monitor is configured with one port and Tally.Server 9 service, to another port.
1. Check the Tally License Server IP address and Port number in tallyserver.ini.
2. Check the Tally License Server IP address and Port number in tssvc.ini.
3. Ping both the Tally License Servers on Internet Explorer to find the correct Tally License Server IP address and Port number.
4. Configure the correct IP address and Port number using Alt+C: Configure Existing License in Tally.Server Monitor.
You will not be able to see the updated name in Tally.Server Monitor.
Changes made in the tssvc.ini will not get reflected in Tally.Server Monitor unless the user restarts the Service from the Services Manager (services.msc).
● After changing the Data Server Name in the tssvc.ini, restart the Tally.Server 9 service from Services Manager (services.msc).
● Restart Tally.Server Monitor and check the Data Server Name. The updated Data Server Name will be displayed.
If the user opens Tally.Server Monitor the message, Tally.Server service (Tssvc.exe) not Installed! is being displayed.
Tally.Server Monitor displays the following message:
Server List option is not available for Tally.ERP 9 clients.
This error occurs in case the Tally.Server 9 service (tssvc.exe) is not installed.
Install Tally.Server Service and open Tally.Server Monitor.
When you access Tally.Server 9 from Tally.ERP 9 client, the following message will be displayed:
● The machine running Tally.Server 9 has been switched off/restarted.
● Error in the network of Tally.ERP 9 client machine(s).
● Ensure that Tally.Server Service is running/ that the Tally.ERP 9 client system is connected to the network.
● Restart Tally.ERP 9.
