Tally.Server 9 is compatible with Windows XP SP2 64-bit, XP SP3 32-bit, or higher versions of the Windows operating system.
However, if the data folder is located on a system which runs on another OS, say, Linux and Tally.Server 9 has been installed on a system running on Windows, data can still be accessed by Tally.Server 9 using the SMB (Server Message Block) share mechanism.
For this,
In Tally.Server Monitor,
● In Tally.Server Configuration screen, enter the path where the data folder is stored in the Linux system under Path field. That is, Linuxsystemname\Data .
In Client systems,
● In Select Company screen, select the location of the data folder, that is, the Data: Server Name.
