Data can be stored in a single folder, multiple folders or even in different drives as per user requirement. While a single data location can be specified during the installation of Tally.Server 9, others can be configured in the Tally.Server Monitor.
To provide additional data locations
● Start Tally.Server Monitor
● Click S: Manage Server or press Alt + S to navigate to Tally.Server Information screen.
● Click F4: Setup button or press F4 key.
● In Tally.Server Configuration, under Data Location Details section, enter the Location Name(s) and Path(s).
● Press Ctrl + A to accept the screen.
Note : To hide the data location, type “@@” before the path. For example: @@C:\Program Files\Tally.Server9\HOData.
Once hidden, the data location will not be visible to the user during Company selection.
However, if the user knows the Data Location Name, he can type the same to access the list of companies available there.
