Edit Log for Transactions, Masters, and Company
TallyPrime provides Edit Log to track all your key activities—such as creation, alteration, and deletion—across transactions and masters. With the Edit Log report under Company, you can view all the activities in the Company data that may affect the existing Edit Logs for transactions and masters. This report will not track the changes made in Company Alteration.
With TallyPrime Release 2.1 and later versions, you can track activities performed in vouchers, ledgers, stock items, and accounting groups through Edit Log.
Edit Log for Transactions
In TallyPrime, you can track all the activities for transactions, such as creation, alteration, and deletion. You can view Edit Log for transactions through the following modes:
Voucher Alteration | Day Book | Edit Log Summary > Voucher Type-wise Summary |
Edit Log for Masters
In TallyPrime, you can track all the activities for masters, such as creation, alteration, and deletion. You can view Edit Log for the following masters directly, or through the Master-wise Summary.
Ledgers Alteration | Stock Item Alteration | Group Alteration | Edit Log Summary > Master-wise Summary |
Edit Log for Company
The Edit Log report for Company keeps you updated about the activities in the Company that affect Edit Log of transactions and masters.
Best Practices and Recommendations
-
Manage Data Size: Avoid frequent changes in masters and vouchers, as each alteration generates Edit Log data that increases the overall data size.
-
Method of Voucher Numbering: If your Voucher Type is set to renumber vouchers after inserting or deleting entries, all subsequent vouchers will be renumbered automatically. This creates an Edit Log for each voucher, which increases the data size.
<table> -
Voucher Numbering During Import: Ensure that the vouchers to be imported have the appropriate voucher numbers, to avoid any unwanted Edit Log.
-
Install TallyPrime Edit Log:
-
If you are upgrading from an earlier version of TallyPrime, your TallyPrime Edit Log will start in the licensed mode.
-
If you are using TallyPrime or Tally.ERP 9, then you will need to migrate your Company to TallyPrime Edit Log.
