Pre-Close Job Work Orders in TallyPrime

In case of delivery failure or incomplete or damaged finished products, a principal manufacturer or job worker can pre-close a job work order.

1. Press Alt+G (Go To) > type or select Job Work Order Summary and press Enter.
   
2. Select the order that needs to be closed and press Enter.
3. In the Job Order Details screen, press Alt+W (Close Order).
   
4. In the Job Orders to Close screen, Close orders: Yes.
   
5. Press Ctrl+A to save.

Once you pre-close a job work order, the associated vouchers, such as Material Out and Material In vouchers, are also closed.

1. What happens to the linked Material In and Material Out transactions when a Job Work Order is pre-closed?
   When a Job Work Order is pre-closed, TallyPrime automatically closes the associated component orders linked to that job work cycle. This includes the related Material In and Material Out order chain, ensuring that no further processing is expected against the closed order. This is particularly useful when the order cannot be completed due to delivery failures, damaged goods, or other operational exceptions.
   
   
2. How can I identify and close only exceptional Job Work Orders without affecting active orders?
   Open the Job Work Order Summary report and drill down to the specific order that requires closure. Review the Job Order Details and use Alt+W (Close Order) to pre-close only that order. Since the action is performed at the individual order level, you can selectively close problematic orders while keeping other active job work orders open for continued tracking and processing.
