HomeTallyPrimeAccountingCost Centre Category Error

Table of Contents

The Cost Centre does not belong to the Category!

Cause: This message appears while importing or exporting data in TallyPrime if there is a mismatch in the cost category classification of the cost centre between the importing Company and the exporting Company.

For example, if a Cost Centre is classified under the Primary Cost Category in the exported data but is classified under a different Cost Category in the importing company, the import process results in this error.

Resolution:

  1. Alter the Cost Centre and assign it to the same Cost Category in both the exporting and importing Companies.
  2. Save the changes and try to import/export the transactions again.
