Secure your company data by controlling who can access it and what they can do. Being an administrator of the company, you can create users, assign permissions, strengthen password security, and restrict access to sensitive business information, as needed.
Accessing your Company Data
Control access to your company data, especially when you need more than one user to access the data with different permissions. As an admin for the company, create users with usernames and passwords, and provide access based on their responsibilities. Change their roles, modify permissions, or remove access when required.

Security with Password Policies
Strengthen user passwords with Password Policy in TallyPrime. Define password expiration periods and allow specific users to change their own passwords.
User roles & security levels
Assign role-based security levels to users. TallyPrime provides Owner and Data Entry security levels by default, with different levels of access to company data and activities. You can define security levels for each user role to
- Give users access only to the activities they need, such as Full Access, Create, Alter, Display, Print, and Preview for different areas of TallyPrime.
- Apply permissions of one user role to another on a need basis.
With security levels, you can restrict activities outside their assigned security rights.
Secure vouchers & backdated transactions
Control whether users can create, alter, view, or print vouchers. For back-dated transactions, you can also restrict changes based on the number of days allowed or a specified cut-off date.
- Control how users work with current and back-dated vouchers.
- Prevent users from creating transactions before a specified date, such as when an audit is complete and you do not want earlier data changed.
Control report access
Control which reports users can access and what they can do with them. You can allow activities such as viewing and printing for specific reports, including statutory and inventory reports.
Secure Stock Item rates
Prevent users from changing stock item rates after you have established a price list. This ensures that invoices use the rates specified in the price list.
Control Dashboard Access
Allow or restrict Dashboard access based on user roles. You can also allow users to view the Dashboard while hiding specific tiles that contain financial information you want to keep confidential.

Apply security controls when users access business information or share business documents through WhatsApp from TallyPrime. You can restrict users from:
- Adding or altering the registered business WhatsApp number.
