Maintain Profile Details in TallyPrime

Maintain your profile details accurately in the Tally portal by managing and updating your contact information linked to your Tally Serial Number. Keeping your profile up to date guarantees that you receive timely and relevant communication, ensuring that you never miss important updates or notifications.

You will receive twice a year, on 1st April (displayed until 30th April) and 1st October (displayed until 31st October), reminding you to update your profile details. The notification will remain visible for a month.

You can view and update your profile details with appropriate login rights. Only users with admin email IDs, site admins, owners, and standard users with rights can access the edit screen. You need to have an active license to access your profile.

View and Update Profile Details

  1. Gateway of Tally > F1 (Help) > Profile.
    You can view your profile details and edit them if required.

  2. Edit and update Profile.
    1. In the Profile screen, press Alt+I (Edit Profile).
    2. Log in with your Tally.NET ID and Password.
    3. Update and save the details. The saved changes will also reflect on the portal.

      The Account Information section is disabled in TallyPrime. You can alter the Account ID and Admin e-mail ID directly on the portal.

  3. View profile on portal.
    • Press Alt+V (Open Tally Portal) from the Profile screen.
      You will be directed to the Tally Portal.
    • Provide your credentials to log in and check the updated details or alter any additional information.

Any changes made in TallyPrime will automatically reflect on the Tally portal. You can also view and update additional information on the portal, such as Business Information, Statutory Information, and User Management.

Cause: This error occurs when you are on the Edit Profile page and the session is expired and you attempt to submit the form.
Solution: You need to log in again to edit your profile.

Cause: This error occurs when the minimum character limit is not met for Name and Address.
Solution: Enter at least 3 characters for Name and Address.

Cause: This error occurs if the system receives an invalid response without a session ID or any error message.
Solution: You can wait and try again later.

FAQ

You don’t need to load a company to view/edit Profile. You can view/edit Profile from Select Company screen.

You won’t be able to make changes from the application. To do so, you’ll need to visit the portal.

In Educational Mode the Profile page will not be accessible. You need to have an active license to access Profile page.

As the information is confidential, all the users will not have access to it. Only the following types of users can log in and edit Profile:

  1. User having Admin e-mail ID
  2. Site admin
  3. Owner
  4. Standard user with appropriate rights.
