Import Masters from Excel

If you are managing large volumes of master details such as Stock Items and Ledgers in Excel, you can import them into TallyPrime along with e-Invoicing-related fields and Arabic language support, and then send them to the KSA e-Invoicing system.

To simplify this process, TallyPrime provides:

• A customized Excel template (in Arabic) with all the mandatory user-defined fields pre-filled.

• A TCP file and mapping files (.tsf) to ensure accurate import of data into TallyPrime.

1. Download the KSA_Excel Import UDFs in Arabic language zip folder.

2. Unzip the folder.

   1. Select the downloaded zip folder > right-click > Extract All.

   2. Browse and select a destination for the files to be extracted.

   3. Select Extract to view the following files under the KSA_Excel Import UDFs in Arabic language folder.

      1. .tcp file: To load the TDL for importing the masters in Arabic.

      2. .tsf file: To import the ledgers and stock items into TallyPrime.

      3. Ledger and Stock Items Excel sheet: To update and export the ledgers and stock items

3. Load the .tcp file in TallyPrime.

   1. Press F1 (Help) > TDLs & AddOns > F4 (Manage Local TDLs).

   2. In the TDL Configuration screen, set Load selected TDL files on statrtup: Yes.

   3. Select the required File Name from File Selection to mention the path of the TCP file path.

      1. Specify Path: Fill in the .tcp file path.

      2. Select from Drive: Select the file path from the system.

   4. Set Load TDL to Yes.

   5. Select End of List.
      In the TDL Management screen, the status of the .tcp file will appear as Loaded.
      

       

4. Move the mapping files (.tsf) to TallyPrime installation folder > config > excelmaps.
   

    

Note: If you are downloading the .tsf files for the first time, you must manually create the config > excelmaps folder under the TallyPrime installation folder.

4. In the Excel template, enter your master data (Ledgers or Stock Items).
   You may use the template as-is or customize it to modify column names or structure. Ensure that the corresponding updates are also made in the mapping files (.tsf) to avoid mismatched imports.

5. Import Data into TallyPrime using the mapped template.

   1. Press Alt+O (Import) > Masters.

   2. Select the File to Import, Worksheet Name, and Mapping Template.

       

   3. Update Behaviour of Import if master already exists.

      1. Select Ignore Duplicates, if you are importing the Stock Items or Ledgers for the first time.

      2. Select Modify with New Data, if you have already imported the Stock Items or Ledgers and want to update additional data.
         

          

   4. Set Backup Company Data before Import to Yes.

   5. Press I to Import.

Once completed, the updated Stock Items and Ledgers will be available in TallyPrime.
