Unable to Enter Data or Modify the Uploaded Invoices in the GST Portal

Cause

You have crossed the maximum invoice limit allowed for a particular table (for example, B2B). Once this limit is exceeded, invoices cannot be modified online on the GST portal and must be downloaded using the GST Offline Tool.

Additionally, in the Prepare Online section of GSTR-1, the invoice count may not refresh automatically after adding invoice details.

Resolution

  1. Download the invoice data from the GST portal.
  2. Open the data in the GST Offline Tool and make the required modifications.
  3. Generate a fresh JSON file from the GST Offline Tool.
  4. Re-upload the JSON file to the GST portal.
If the invoice count is not refreshed in Prepare Online section,
  5. Click Generate Summary at the bottom of the GSTR-1 online form to refresh the invoice count and values.
