Release Notes for TallyPrime Developer Release 6.0 | What’s New in TDL
This topic gives a brief overview of all the new TDL capabilities introduced in the release and the product improvements done in Release 6.0.
Product Improvements
TallyPrime Default TDL
TallyPrime Release 6.0 makes banking delightful with an enhanced Bank Reconciliation and Connected Banking. The enhanced Bank Reconciliation offers numerous facilities for matching book transactions with bank transactions, which keep your books in sync with your bank. Connected Banking helps you reduce time and effort consumed in various banking activities.
TDL Enhancements
Release 6.0 is packed with new TDL capabilities that benefit developers by allowing them to customize its features. Release 6.0 enriches TallyPrime with integrated Connected Banking capabilities. Key updates include:
- Skip Forward Capability at the Part Level for improved navigation.
- Enhancements to the Report Attribute – MultiObjects for smoother data processing.
- Introduction of Disable Period on Tile, allowing customizable dashboard displays by removing the period attribute.
- Enhanced Primary Status, Secondary status & Transaction Type attributes & added a new attribute Recon status at collection level.
The updated code of default TDL for TallyPrime helps the partners and developers to build new customizations on TallyPrime Release 6.0.
Skip Forward Capability
With Release 6.0, a new attribute Skip Forward at the Part Level allows developers to configure specific Parts to be bypassed during forward navigation using the Right or Bottom arrow keys, while remaining accessible when navigating backward. To know more about this capability, click here.
Disable Period on Tile Capability
Disable Period on Tile is a new capability in TallyPrime Release 6.0 which allows customers whether to display/not display period on a particular tile in dashboard. To bring this UI, we are adding an attribute within the Report definition. To know more about this capability, click here.
Multi Objects Create and Alter Capability
Currently, if multiple external data objects are selected for creating vouchers, the system processes them one by one. If it encounters an error while processing any object, it stops and shows the report with an error message. Objects created before the error remain; the remaining ones are not processed. The new requirement is to allow skipping objects with errors and continue processing the others without showing an error message. For the same reason the attribute Multi Objects under Report definition has been enhanced. To know more about this capability, click here.
Function – IsPatternMatch
With the new release 6.0, we are introducing a new function IsPatternMatch which will check with the input string to the regular expression pattern. To know more about this enhancement, click here.
Collection Level Enhancements
A new attribute called Recon Status in the Paylink collection query helps to categorize and filter transactions based on their reconciliation status.
From TallyPrime Release 6.0, these attributes will now accept multiple values in a single collection as a list. Developers can specify the required values for attributes like Primary Status, Secondary Status and Transaction Type in a single query.
Prior to this release, the collection attributes like Primary Status, Secondary Status and Transaction Type in Paylink queries accept only a single value. However, many scenarios, such as e-payment reports, require filtering objects based on multiple status values.
Storage Update for Opening BRS Details
Opening BRS details will now be stored in a new internal voucher type, Opening Balance, instead of in the bank ledger master. This internal voucher type will not appear in any voucher type lists in the product.
Prior to TallyPrime Release 6.0, unreconciled bank transactions were stored in the bank ledger, increasing its size and affecting performance. This change improves system performance and addresses operational challenges.
