Create Payroll Unit in TallyPrime

In TallyPrime, you can create Simple and Compound Payroll Units and link them to attendance or production types to calculate earnings based on time, work, or quantity.

You can create two types of payroll units:

  • Simple Units – Single measurement units, such as Hours, Days, or Pieces.
  • Compound Units – A combination of two simple units, such as Hours per Day or Units per Box.

Create Simple Payroll Unit

  1. Press Alt+G (Go To) > Create Master > Units (Work) and press Enter.

  2. Enter the unit details.
    1. Type: Select Simple.
    2. Symbol: Enter the Symbol for the unit, such as min.
    3. Formal Name: Enter the Formal Name for the unit, such as Minutes.
    4. Number of decimal places: Provide the number of decimal places, as applicable.
  3. Press Ctrl+A to save.

Similarly, you can create the other payroll units, such as Hours, Pieces and so on and start creating attendance or production master.

Create Compound Payroll Unit

  1. Press Alt+G (Go To) > Create Master > Units (Work) and press Enter.

  2. Enter the unit details.
    1. Type: Select Compound.
    2. First Unit: Select the First Unit from the Units list. In this example, Hrs is the First Unit.
    3. Conversion: Specify the conversion factor in the Conversion field. In this example, the conversion factor is 60.
    4. Second Unit: Specify the Second Unit from the Units list. In this example, Mins is the Second Unit.
  3. Press Ctrl+A to save.

Similarly, you can create the other payroll units, such as a box of 10 Nos, a dozen of 12 Pcs and so on and start creating attendance or production master.
