Creating a Customer Ledger

To create a Customer ledger:

Go to Gateway of Tally > Accounts Info. > Ledgers > Create

  1. Enter the Name of the ledger.

  2. In the field Under select Sundry Debtors from the List of Groups.

  3. Set Maintain Balances Bill by Bill to Yes. Enter the Default Credit Period, if any.

  4. Set Is Service Tax Applicable to Yes.

  

  1. Select the Type of Classification in the Exemption Details screen.

  

Note: If Exempt classification is selected, then the Notification number has to be entered. The Exemption Notification No. will be displayed in the transaction, which can be changed if required. In ST3 Half Yearly return the Notification number will be displayed under section 3(C2).

  1. Enter Mailing Details and Tax Information.

  2. Enable the field Set/Alter Service Tax Details to Yes

  

  1. In Service Tax Details screen enter the Service Tax Registration details

 

  1. Press Enter to accept and save.
