Tally.ERP 9 Editions & Licenses

Tally.ERP 9 comes in two editions: Tally.ERP 9 Silver Edition (Single User) and Tally.ERP 9 Gold Edition (Multi-User). You need a license to use either edition. Both the editions of Tally.ERP 9 provide different licensing options. Each of these options gives you the rights to use the product on desktop/laptop, and avail Tally Software Services (TSS).

Tally.ERP 9 Editions

● Tally.ERP 9 Silver Edition (Single User) : The Silver edition is a single-user license. Only one user can access the license at a time in a LAN environment. For another user to access the same license, all other instances of Tally.ERP 9 currently using the license must be closed.

● Tally.ERP 9 Gold Edition (Multi-User) : The Gold edition is a multi-user license. Multiple users can access the license at a time in a LAN environment.
You can use Tally.Server 9 along with Tally.ERP 9 to manage concurrent usage of company data. Tally.Server 9 also provides a secure environment for your company data.

Tally.ERP 9 License options

● Regular License : You can use the product on desktop/laptop forever. When you purchase any edition of the product, you will get free product updates and TSS for a year. Thereafter, you need to renew TSS every year to get continuous product updates and other services.

● Rental : You can use the product on desktop/laptop and avail TSS for three months. After that you need to extend the rental by renewing TSS, or convert to a regular license.

● Educational : You can use the product on desktop/laptop. The Educational version allows data entry for the first five dates in a month. You can use all features of Tally.ERP 9 in this mode.

Tally Software Services (TSS)

This is a software subscription for a collection of value-added services for Tally.ERP 9. When you have an active TSS you can avail continuous product updates, connectivity-driven functionalities such as online data exchange between your branches, remote access, seamless banking and payment services, SMS feature, and report access using browsers.

Tally Virtual User (TVU)

TVU allows access to an instance of Tally.ERP 9 running on a virtual environment using tools like Windows RDP, Windows thin Client, Citrix, or similar technologies. In simple terms, to access Tally.ERP 9 using Windows RDP or similar technologies, a valid TVU pack is required.
