As we have seen, the duty rates for a stock item can be defined at various levels.
Tally.ERP 9 checks the rate defined for a stock item in the following hierarchy:
In case different duty details are entered in different levels, according to the hierarchy, the details entered in the transaction will be considered for duty calculation.
If there is no information available at the transaction level, then the details entered in the accounting ledger will be considered.
If there is no information available in the transaction level and the accounting ledger level, then the details entered in the accounting group will be considered.
Similarly, the hierarchy will be followed and if the duty details are not available at any other level, the details entered in the company level will be considered for duty calculation.
