Form 231 is the monthly return filed by registered dealers. Tally.ERP 9 exports the return details to the excel template provided by the department. The excel template validates the information exported to the Sales Annexure and Purchase Annexure sheets and automatically creates Form 231 and Form IIIE .
1. Copy the excel template to the Tally.ERP 9 installed folder.
2. Go to Gateway of Tally > Display > Statutory Reports > VAT > VAT Form 231 .
3. Press Ctrl+E to view the Export Report screen.
4. Press Backspace to provide the relevant details.
5. Press Enter to export the data to template.
6. Open the excel template to which data is posted.
7. Go to Validate sheet.
8. Click Validate & Preview return button. Click Ok to close the Data Transafer Done message.
9. Click Create file for uploading button.
The file created can be uploaded to the department portal.
