Uploaded XML Structure is not Valid, Please Verify or Log a Complaint

Cause

This message appears when there are errors in the XML Structure while uploading the Dealer Excise Return File.

Solution

To resolve this,

● Validate the exported Dealer Excise Return File using Notepad++.

● Correct the error.

● Upload the Dealer Excise Return File.

To download notepad++

1. Download the Notepad++ installer.

2. Run the installer.

3. Select the preferred language.

4. Click on OK . The Notepad++ Setup Box appears.

5. Click Next .

6. Click I Agree in the License Agreement Box.

7. Choose your destination folder and click on Next> . The Choose Components Box appears.

8. Click on Next>

9. Click on Install to complete the installation process .

10. Click on Finish after the installation is complete.

Notepad++ opens after installation.

To install the XML tool for validation

1. Go to Plugins > Plugin Manager > Show Plugin Manager.

2. Select XML Tools from the list.

3. Click on Install .

4. Click on Yes to restart Notepad++ after the installation is complete.

5. Open the Dealer Excise Return File.

6. Go to Plugins > XML Tools > Validate Now .

7. Notepad++ asks for an ACES_DLR.xsd File that needs to be downloaded from the website mentioned in the box.

8. Select the downloaded (.xsd) file from the browse list.

9. Click OK .

If errors in the XML Structure exist, they will be listed with reason.

10. Correct all errors and click OK .

Common XML Structure Errors include:

● HSN Code errors - Remove special characters. For example, 7214-9110, 7214.9110 must be 72149110.

● Incorrect ECC number.

● Incorrect format for registration numbers.  The correct format is, AABCM1234KXM001
