You can easily upgrade from 5.X version to 5.Y version of Tally.ERP 9 by using the installer file from the Tally.ERP installation folder or directly from Tally.ERP 9 product.
There are two ways of upgrading from Release 5.X to 5.Y:
● Upgrading from Tally.ERP 9 installation folder
● Upgrading from Tally.ERP 9 product
Note:
♦ Ensure that you have valid Tally.Net subscription to upgrade to next release.
♦ Ensure that you have connected to Internet.
♦ Ensure that you have taken data Backup before proceed for upgrade.
1. Go to Tally.ERP 9 Release 5.0 installation folder and execute Setup.EXE in administrator mode.
2. Click Upgrade as shown below.
When you click Upgrade, request will be sent to BSS Server to show the latest available release.
3. Click Install to upgrade.
During this time, required components based on system architecture (32/64 Bit) will be downloaded:
Upon successful upgrade, the following screen appears:
1. Execute Tally.ERP 9 in administrator mode.
2. From Gateway of Tally, press F12 and go to Product & Features
3. Position the cursor on Tally.ERP 9 Series A Release 5.1.0, and click F6: Update.
Based on confirmation shown below, Tally will communicate to BSS Server and upgrade it to Release 5.1.
Tally.ERP 9 will restart automatically with latest release once after successful upgrade.
Note: Similar process needs to be followed in all the client systems in Multi-user environment to upgrade to latest Release.
