The commercial taxes department of West Bengal does not support physical filing of VAT returns. As per the new guidelines, VAT returns in Form 14 should be filed in XML format. Hence, Tally.ERP 9 supports the export of Form 14 details in XML format, as required by the department.
The department has provided a java tool that can be used to open the XML file in word format, to view the details before filing the returns.
