System Requirements for Installation of Tally.ERP 9 - 64-bit Application

To install Tally.ERP 9 (64-bit application), the user needs to have administrator rights (Create, Write, Update, Modify and Delete permissions). Multilingual users must ensure that the operating system supports multiple languages. The Hardware requirements and Operating system required for a Client-Server and a standalone computer are as described below:

Operating Systems

64-bit editions of Microsoft XP/Server 2003/Vista/Server 2008/Windows 7/Windows 8/Server 2012

*Tally.ERP 9 will work on lower configurations too; however, the aforesaid configurations are recommended.

Note: The Tally.ERP 9 native 64-bit .exe has a separate installer. It can run only on 64-bit Windows OS.

 

To use 64-bit native application, users on Windows 32-bit operating systems will have to migrate to 64-bit Windows OS and required hardware. 

Internet Requirements for Tally.ERP 9 Silver Edition (Single User)/ Gold Edition (Multi User) to use certain Features

i. Internet Connectivity - For Data Synchronisation, Remote Access and SMS

Internet Connectivity

  • Minimum speed for Broadband - 512KBps on Server and Client locations.

  • Minimum speed for Leased Line - 1MBps on Server and Client locations.

Note:To have a better user experience a bandwidth of 2MBps would be advisable on Server and Client locations.

ii. Tally.NET Server- For Data Synchronisation, Remote Access and SMS

This facility is provided under Tally.NET Subscription.

iii. Public IP - For Data Synchronisation through Direct IP

Public IP

  • Public IP on Server in case of Direct IP Synchronisation. (IP must be static).

Note: If user opts to Synchronise Data via Tally.NET Server Public IP is not required on Server.
