1. Can we configure License file path from the application?
No, from application we will no be able to configure the License file path. You can only connect to existing active gateway server.
2. How can we check the License file path configured in customer machine?
You can navigate to tallygateway.ini and view the License path.
3. Should we guide checklist – check the License file path in License turned Educational queries?
No, suggesting user to configure the Tally License Server (up to Rel 4.93) and Configure the Tally Gateway Server (from 5.0 onwards) should be the checklist.
4. As License path configuration is removed, how can same license be fetched in higher & lower releases?
Need to Reactivate License in Higher release so that gateway generated is of higher version. Higher gateway version is compatible to serve the license in lower release as well. Need to configure the gateway details in lower release by clicking on the option F12: Licensing. Configure Existing License.
5. If the License is reactivated in lower release, how can same license be configured in Higher release. Ex. License exists in Rel 4.9x and Rel 6.6.1 is installed in different folder.
In this scenario, recommended solution is Reactivate the License in 6.6.1 and configure the gateway in Rel 4.93.
6. What is the change given with respect to Gate configuration in Rel 6.6.1?
To configure the gateway, user should click on Configure existing License from start up page or from F12: Licensing menu. On clicking on this option, system will search for available active gateway servers in LAN and display the list to connect to it. Till Rel 6.6, user used to get option configure manually first whereas in 6.6.1, system will first search and later user can choose to configure it manually as well.
7. How can I change the Gateway configuration manually from application?
From Start-up page of F12: Licensing menu, click on Configure existing License option once the gateway search is completed click Ctrl+F2 to configure the gateway manually.
