Tally Turned to Educational Mode in License Server Machine - Applicable for Silver and Gold Edition

If Tally.ERP 9 has turned to educational mode on Tally License Server machine, you can check the probable reasons and the corresponding solutions. This is applicable for Silver & Gold Edition.

The reasons for Tally license turning to educational mode on license server machine, and the steps to resolve this issue are given below.

License file path is incorrect

1. Check if the Tally.lic file is available in the Tally folder.

(Right click Tally icon > click Properties > click Open File Location ).

2. If the Tally.lic is available:

o Press Alt+D to view the path, and press Ctrl+C to copy it.

o Go to Gateway of Tally , press F12 > Licensing > Configure Existing License .

o Press Backspace to select License File and paste the copied path in License file path (by pressing Ctrl+Alt+V ).

Gateway Server details are configured incorrectly

Go to Gateway of Tally , press F12 > Licensing > Configure Existing License > Press F2 to search the available Active Gateway Servers .

Select an active Tally Gateway Server to access the License.

Tally Gateway services have stopped

Check if the Gateway Services have stopped.

Press Windows+R on the keyboard. In the Run command window, type s ervices.msc and press Enter . The service management window opens. Check the status for Tally Gateway Server. If it has stopped, right click and Start the service.

Once the Service starts, configure the Gateway to access the license.

Multiple Gateway Services exist

Press Windows+R on the keyboard. In the Run command window, type s ervices.msc and press Enter . The service management window opens. Check if there are multiple Gateway Services.

If multiple gateway servers are found with status as Running , select the Gateway Server which is not required, right click and Stop the service.

Ensure that the Gateway service with highest Port number is Running .

Multiple instances of Tally folders exist in the same machines, along with multiple Tally.lic files

Check if you have tried to install Tally multiple times in same machine.

Search for Tally.lic file in the system.

If there are multiple Tally.lic files, check the file location. Take a backup of the data in those folders, uninstall the additional installations of Tally, and delete the Tally.lic files. Do not delete the Tally.lic file from the Tally folder which you are currently accessing Tally.

Configure the License file path if available inside the current folder or Reactivate the License .

If above scenarios does not exist, then Reactivate the License on the machine.

If you have formatted the machine, hard disk has crashed, or windows are upgraded, Reactivate the License. Do not follow the procedures mentioned in the above table.
